Floor space has, and always will be, one of the most valued assets for a business. Whether it is a restaurant, bar or hotel, the ability to maximise patron capacity has always been a priority. Recently, Hurricane’s Grill installed several Platinum Smart-Heat™ Gas heaters at their picturesque Darling Harbour location in a move to maximise the venue’s floor space.
“We turn over tables. We’ll do anywhere between 600-1000 people in an evening,” said Hurricane’s Corporate Services General Manager, Steve Sidd. “We’ve got an outside balcony area, which on a cold or rainy day we were losing a lot of revenue, which resulted in a lot of people waiting longer for a table, so we made a decision we needed the heaters to utilise the area.”
Hurricane’s upgraded from out-of-date mushroom heaters. “We had floor mushroom heaters and ceiling mounted mushroom heaters. . . when you’ve got to move tables around, so you can accommodate for small tables, large tables they’re always being in the way,” Steve said.
“We have tables against the rail at Darling Harbour, but then you got tables on the other side, then you have a mushroom heater in the middle, it blocks the views, it doesn’t present well,” Steve adds. “The Bromic heaters we’ve got are clean, they’re modern and they just fit in well; it’s a shame we didn’t do it earlier!”
